We are proud to announce that Diggecard has achieved ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the internationally recognised standard for information security management.
Diggecard forecasted turnover for 2020 was 25 million GBP (300 million NOK), however the actual result is almost double at 43 million GBP (514 million NOK). After the annual reports for 2020 were finalised and official, Finansavisen the leading Norwegian financial newspaper published an article that discusses the reasons behind this success.
International development is one of the keys to Diggecard’s rapid expansion
Having the UK and Norway as the starting point, Diggecard started international expansion with gift card solution launches in France, Germany and the Netherlands with The Body Shop, in Italy with Edenred and in South Africa with Appletree. The platform enables ease of switching between different languages, currencies and payment methods which makes it more competitive in international markets. Scalability of the solution and the increase in online sales all over the world is a good foundation for reaching new countries, according to the newspaper.
Pandemic highlighted the need for new digital gift card solutions
According to Finansavisen, the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the technical inadequacies of existing solutions that were available for the gift card industry. This puts Diggecard in an extremely advantageous position because the company possesses state of the art technology that can facilitate online and mobile sales of digital gift cards as well as allowing retailers to launch their digital gift card programme in very short time. Diggecard has used this opportunity in 2020 and continues to do so. The results manifests themselves in the numbers; in November 2021 the business is 33% ahead of the previous year. Christmas sales are yet to be included, but the perspective looks good.
